Hello and happy Monday. Today is my last Monday in work which is just a tiny bit crazy! I can’t believe that the time is actually here where everything starts to change.
If you have no idea what I’m talking about, then you can catch up here. I made a quick YouTube video explaining some pretty big changes that are happening for me in the coming days and weeks. If you don’t want to watch, I’m basically explaining that I’m moving back from New York to Ireland, after two years of living here. I have to say, I was blown away and absolutely chuffed with the response. People have been so supportive and so reassuring that it’s made me feel a thousand times more sure that this is the right move for me. I was already pretty confident in my decision but I couldn’t help but worry that people would think I’m crazy for leaving. It probably is a little bit crazy but I genuinely couldn’t be happier about it if I tried.
Over the weekend it got very real as I began packing up the last two years of my life. I have about four suitcases now that I know are going to be full to the brim. (This is after I filled seven black sacks that will be going to charity!)
Looking at all of the stuff I’ve accumulated over the last two years brought me back to when I was in 4th year in school. My parents brought my sister and I on a weekend trip to New York to go shopping in the lead up to Christmas. We nearly died and went to heaven, it was literally a dream come true to finally visit this place. It was then that I made up my mind that I would live here someday. I’m proud of myself that I got here and made it happen a few years later. But anyway, back to the story. I was laughing to myself as I compared what was in my suitcases now, and what was in them back then. I remember coming out with a completely empty suitcase, and I filled it with Abercrombie and American Eagle hoodies and tracksuit bottoms to wear at home. I was absolutely loving life…but you might be able to tell that my style has slightly changed since then!
I picked up this dress on the For Love & Lemons website because it was honestly one of those pieces that when I saw it, I couldn’t not buy it. I’m thinking of wearing this outfit to a family wedding in October…but before you think I’m crazy to wear white, it’s actually an Indian wedding. Traditionally the bride wears red at these so it’s is actually an option! Happy days!
So if you saw my Instagram and Snapchat over the weekend, you’ll know that I am collaborating with An Post at the moment. When they got in touch about working together to promote AddressPal, I was obviously delighted. I think that it’s a really great service to offer people, and I know that I genuinely will use it. It’s so great because it bridges the gap between Irish people and the brands that they love, who don’t deliver to Ireland. A group of my friends are coming over in two weeks and I know that they were worried about stocking up on all of the beauty products that you can’t buy in Ireland in Sephora, but now they need not worry. I’m the same, as I prepare to move home I feel less pressure to buy in bulk the brands that I’ve grown accustomed to using and wearing over here.
So, what is it? AddressPal is an online service provided by An Post that allows you to shop your favourite brands that don’t deliver to Ireland. I’m talking about the likes of Sephora for makeup, or two of the brands that I’m wearing in this post…For Love & Lemons and Louise et Cie. You can have your favourite items shipped to your local Post Office, or directly to your home or work.
What you have to do: Sign up at addresspal.anpost.ie and it’s there that you’ll receive both a UK and a US proxy address to use when purchasing from your favourite international brands who typically don’t ship to Ireland. It’s so simple!
I had so much fun shooting this look with Claire. We got up extra early to shoot it because it was very much on the dressy side and I get unbelievably awkward shooting when there are people around! Anyway, I hope you all have a great week, and thanks for reading!
* Thank you to An Post for sponsoring this post. I’m so happy to partner with them to promote this service because I know so many of you guys will benefit from this really great service. Hellooo, Sephora deliveries!
