*At Home* Stair Workout

Hey Friends 🙂

Happy Wednesday! I literally couldn’t be happier that Spring is starting to make an appearance here in New York, the good weather lifts my mood like nothing else! I can’t sit still when I think about how excited I am for my first Summer in the city… 

I know that once 5pm rolls around, then the day will begin again. Dinners out & rooftop bars will be plentiful and I can not wait!

Lately, I’ve been really trying to become more dedicated to getting to the gym at least 5 days a week. With Coachella right around the corner, I really want to feel comfortable and confident in my own skin. I think I’m finally in the habit of getting up early each day to fit in time to work out (yesterday I failed, but that’s okay), and it’s definitely getting easier!

In one of my recent posts, I mentioned about trying to take the stairs more often. I incorporate a lot of step-up exercises into my daily workouts and I think they’re great! I thought that it could be useful to have a stairs workout on hand where the stairs is your only equipment. My friend Katie and I used to do lots of different exercises on the steps at Punchestown racecourse when we would bring our dogs for walks out there, so I know that this will definitely be useful to have on hand, and to feel the burn!

I’ve broken it out into 3 different rounds, let me know if you try it!

Warm up – jog up & down the stairs 3 times

Round 1

a – Squat jump every step to the top

b – 10 push ups at the top of the stairs

c – jog back down

d – 10 push ups at the bottom

**Repeat 3 times**

Round 2

a – Split Squats: facing away from the stairs, elevate one leg onto the second or third step (depending on how tall you are) and do 12 squats on each leg. If I’m being useless at explaining that, then check out this video to see what I mean! 🙂

b – jog up & down the stairs between each set

**Repeat 3 times**

Round 3 – to finish it off

In a squat position, jog sideways up the steps, and jog back down normally.

**Repeat twice on each side**

I shot these photos on the steps of The Met with Edelle, it’s just the dream early in the mornings at the weekend when there is no one around! My top and body warmer is from Athleta, I can’t even explain how soft the body warmer is – I’m in love! My pants and runners are my trusty Nikes that I live in!
