Last Saturday I went over to Brooklyn to the Smorgasburg with a few of the girls. It was my first time in Brooklyn and it really didn’t disappoint! Despite the freezing weather, the views made up for it – so stunning!
The food at this market could have satisfied anyone’s taste! It ranged from oysters to ice cream, vegan friendly stalls to ones with every meat you could imagine. I did about three laps of the market before I could decide what I was in the mood for. I’m not a vegetarian, but I’m a little bit wary of the meat over here so I opted for a veggie-friendly sandwich. This was supposed to be a vegan BLT but I subbed out the tomato for some cheddar (tomatoes ruin sandwiches for me!). The filling consisted of smoked aubergine, a herby chipotle mayonnaise, lettuce and melted cheese, all on toasted wholegrain bread. It was genuinely one of the best sambos I’ve ever had! I also got a coconut of the side as my drink – so refreshing!
Smorgasburg is open every Saturday until the end of November, so I fully intend on going every Saturday until then! Follow me on Snapchat (niamhos21) to check it out this weekend! There was so much variety, with food from every culture, so I can’t wait to go back and try some more out. I also loved Brooklyn so much, so much quieter than Manhattan, which is nice when you just want to wander!
